The Alligator Gar is the  largest living species of gar (Family Lepisosteidae) and a true freshwater monster fish, native to the temperate and subtropical waters of Eastern and Central North America. Like all gar, they are predators, feeding on fish, frogs, and vertebrates – anything they can fit in their large tooth-filled mouths.
